THE WARSAW ARTIST HAS STUDIED INTERIOR DESIGN, pursued graphic arts and photography. The latter have been presented by the Archeology of Photography Foundation. The fact that Zamecznik has been a lecturer at the Photography Design Faculty of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts since 1960, is the proof how seriously he has approached this field of art. Further, he has a member of the Fédération de l'Art Photographique. He has offered experimental and documentary photographs, as well as records of his journeys and visual notes. This has been a subsequent exhibition of photographs by Wojciech Zamecznik to be presented by the Archeology of Photography Foundation.

The photographs, as his overall oeuvre, have something in common with the work by Russian post constructivists. He has approached them engineer like. Notes, studies and enlargements have been selected out of dozens of photographs from the artist's archives. Though they appear to be considerably different, they share a feature in common - all are extremely surreal and dreamy. Among these, the made unreal photographs used in the opening credits of the "Tomorrow Premiere" movie by Janusz Morgerstern; the series of abstract pictures of ink in the water; miniature photographs of everyday objects (a telephone set, glasses, a bottle) and color photographs and slides from the 60's. Besides photographs, the exhibition displayed projections of selected 16 mm tape fragments from Wojciech's Zamecznik's film archives, digitalized by the Archeology of Photography Foundation.

The exhibition title has not been accidental. As is the case of the book "If on a Winter's Night a Traveler..."  by Italo Calvino, nothing seems to fit together on this exhibition. Apparently. After all it has developed an incomprehensible story one can get easily engrossed in.
